A minimalist finishing touch for luxurious Edinburgh hotel.
In a fittingly gorgeous area of Edinburgh’s West End comes the second Scottish opening for Voco Hotel. Inside and out, the eight-story hotel in Haymarket is defined by its contemporary look. INVI Concept’s flush finish riser door systems were specified to complete this look, elevating the minimalist aesthetic of the corridors interwoven through the building. The INVI Concept team ensured the smooth completion of this project in collaboration with Ogilvie Group and Elite Door Solutions.
Out of Sight
The hotel’s sleek interior design flows from the hallways welcoming guests through its doors, to the restaurant/bar and selection of luxurious suites. In line with this architectural vision came the necessity to minimise the detailing of architectural openings and finishings. In doing so, doorways and riser doors are integrated seamlessly – not disrupting or distracting from the centrepieces of these spaces. Rather, installation of the Bespoke INVI Riser® door system allows the free-flowing, spacious feel of the corridors to shine. The bespoke INVI Riser® model was installed and framed with an adjustable closing jamb (Classic Adjust with no reveal) – suited to various wall thicknesses. This model of the system was selected for easy adjustability to suit various wall thicknesses.
Highly Customisable Options
As displayed here (see right), the building’s hardware and piping are concealed and hidden from view from those passing through the hallways. This is made possible by the design of the INVI Riser leaving an innocuous 3mm reveal between the door and plasterboard. This creates a frameless finish perfectly suited to the Voco Hotel’s high-end look and standard.
The minimalist design is furthered by the pairing of INVI Hardware Concealed Hinges with the riser doors. When the riser doors are closed, the hinges disappear ensuring no components are protruding from the wall whatsoever.
The riser doors for the project were specified with Euro Cylindrical Locks to meet the hotel’s security requirements. Along with this, each installation was fitted in accordance with the Fire Rating requirements of the Voco property. FD30 and FD60 options are offered with the Flush Finish Riser Door System. Sustainable
The Voco Hotel was constructed with a focus on sustainability. This environmental policy is exhibited in the hotel’s 100 per cent recycled bedding materials and water-efficient shower heads. INVI Concept is proud to have been a part of this project with an Environmental Policy committed to responsible practices. All INVI Concept systems are manufactured under Minimum Waste procedures in accordance with the company’s sustainable practices.
